Fan’s view: Who are the all-time third basemen for the Yankees? (Associated Content)

A third baseman in baseball should possess quick reflexes and a strong throwing arm. As a longtime fan of the New York Yankees, I have seen or heard of a number of third basemen who possess these qualities and more, while taking pride in wearing pinstripes. These five third basemen have played the most games at the position while a member of the Yankees, and can be considered among the best in the league's history. Graig Nettles Nettles had an astonishingly long 22-year career at third base, playing for six teams, but none longer than the Yankees (1973 to...

Former aide says she saw trainer inject Bonds (AP)

Former San Francisco Giants player Marvin Benard leaves at a federal courthouse after testifying in the Barry Bonds' perjury trial, Wednesday, March 30, 2011, in San Francisco.

Barry Bonds' former personal shopper testified that she witnessed the slugger's private trainer inject Bonds in the belly button before a road trip during the 2002 season. Kathy Hoskins said Thursday she was in Bonds' bedroom packing his clothes for the road trip when the seven-time NL MVP and trainer Greg Anderson came into the room.

First of all, here's who is starting the season on the disabled list: right fielder Corey Hart, catcher Jonathan Lucroy, starting pitcher Zack Greinke, and relievers LaTroy Hawkins and Manny Parra. No team wants to start the season with two starting position players and the projected ace of the pitching staff on the DL, but that's the hand the...

Fan’s guide: Tips to getting the best out of your trip to opening day 2011 at Yankee Stadium (Associated Content)

The New York Yankees will open the 2011 season on Thursday, March 31, 2011, against the Detroit Tigers at Yankee Stadium. The game will begin at 1:05 p.m. Unfortunately, the weather does not look to cooperate as it is forecast that a late-season nor'easter will be descending upon the region early on Thursday morning. It is forecast to be raining with a wind chill of only 33 degrees for the opening pitch. You should be prepared for delays. I personally recommend utilizing mass transit to get to Yankee Stadium.
