A-Rod’s HR helps Sabathia beat Angels 3-2 (AP)

CC Sabathia's ability to pitch deep into games is quite the blessing for the New York Yankees, especially their bullpen. Sabathia came within one out of his second complete game in three starts, Alex Rodriguez hit a tiebreaking two-run homer and Robinson Cano also went deep, leading the Yankees to a 3-2 victory over the Los Angeles Angels on Saturday night.

Rookie pinch-hitter helps Yankees beat Angels 10-6 (AP)

Colin Curtis already was down two strikes when he hopped off the bench. By the time he returned, the New York Yankees were lining up to push the shy rookie out for a curtain call. Rushed up to the plate after Brett Gardner was ejected, Curtis cracked a three-run homer Wednesday that sealed New York's 10-6 victory over Joel Pineiro and the Los Angeles Angels.
