Report: Blue Jays might have made high bid for Darvish (Yahoo! Sports)

The Toronto Blue Jays are believed to be the high bidder for the rights to negotiate with Japanese free agent right-hander Yu Darvish, according to the New York Post. The newspaper reported Thursday that the Blue Jays bid between $40 million and $50 million.

Playoff-hopeful Rays rough up watered-down Yankees (AP)

Rays manager Joe Maddon heard a few cheers coming from the clubhouse and reached for the computer mouse. He knew what had just happened. He wanted to know how.
