At the All-Star break, as a New York Yankees fan, I feel good about the team's position players, despite being in second place. Losing their small lead prior to the stoppage is a result of Boston playing four games versus the roll-over-and-die Orioles.

Yankees score on 2 errors in 1-0 win over Rays (AP)

James Shields, B.J. Upton and CC Sabathia threw the Yankees into the All-Star break on quite the roll. Shields and Upton made egregious throwing errors that let Robinson Cano score the only run, sending New York to a 1-0 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday. "You usually don't win a 1-0 game like that," Yankees manager Joe Girardi said.

Jeter in the leadoff spot, 2 hits from 3,000 (AP)

Derek Jeter is back in his familiar leadoff spot as he tries for his 3,000th career hit. Jeter was two hits short of the milestone Saturday as the New York Yankees faced Tampa Bay and All-Star ace David Price. The Yankees have two games left on their homestand before the All-Star break. Jeter had been set to bat second Friday night against the Rays before the game was rained out.
