The New York Yankees would have preferred doing just about anything on their day off rather than playing a makeup game at Camden Yards. And that was before they lost to the Baltimore Orioles 5-4 in 10 innings on Thursday. Robert Andino singled home the winning run after tying it in the eighth, giving the Orioles their second straight extra-inning win over New York.

Even those who didn't know Mike Flanagan couldn't help but feel the emotion that swept through Camden Yards on Friday night. The Baltimore Orioles celebrated the life of their former pitcher before and during their 12-5 win over the New York Yankees. Afterward, it was evident that the victory would have been far sweeter under different circumstances.

Rain washes out Yankees-Orioles at Camden Yards (AP)

New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi has had quite enough of April showers. New York's game against the Baltimore Orioles on Friday night was postponed by rain. It was the third washout of the young season for the Yankees, the second against the Orioles. No makeup date was immediately announced, but Girardi indicated it will not be this weekend.

Arrieta, Orioles beat Yankees 4-3 (AP)

In his major league debut, Jake Arrieta didn't draw a sellout crowd, strike out 14 batters or hit 100 mph on the radar gun. Nah, all he did was beat the defending World Series champion New York Yankees. Arrieta pitched six innings of four-hit ball, and the Baltimore Orioles ended their 10-game losing streak against the Yankees with a 4-3 victory Thursday night.
