Teixeira was moved from his normal position of third to fifth, while Cano went from fifth to third in manager Joe Girardi's lineup for Tuesday night's game against Tampa Bay. The change will likely continue against right-handed starters in the playoffs that begin Friday.

Their Texas-sized wait is over. The Rangers are going to the World Series. And they got there with a win over their old nemesis, the defending champion New York Yankees. Vladimir Guerrero drove in three runs before Nelson Cruz hit a towering, two-run homer and the Rangers beat New York 6-1 Friday night in Game 6 of the AL championship series, the biggest victory in the franchise's 50 seasons.

Texas has two more chances to reach the World Series for the first time. First, Colby Lewis gets a chance to win the pennant. If he can't finish the job, Cliff Lee would face the New York Yankees in Game 7. Arrieta, Orioles beat Yankees 4-3 (AP)

In his major league debut, Jake Arrieta didn't draw a sellout crowd, strike out 14 batters or hit 100 mph on the radar gun. Nah, all he did was beat the defending World Series champion New York Yankees. Arrieta pitched six innings of four-hit ball, and the Baltimore Orioles ended their 10-game losing streak against the Yankees with a 4-3 victory Thursday night.
