Strong pitching, solid defense and just enough offense. Call it the Rays way. Tampa Bay continued its improbable bid for the AL wild card with a 5-3 victory over the New York Yankees on Tuesday night, taking the chase down to the last night of the regular season after getting home runs from Matt Joyce and Ben Zobrist and turning a triple play that helped them stay in the game.

No pro sports league in America values its records and milestones like MLB. One of my greatest memories as a Chicago Cubs fan was watching Sammy Sosa and Mark McGwire chase the iconic single-season home run record in 1998. But in 2011, there are no significant milestones of which Cubs players are in reach. However, many other MLB players and teams are within reach of significant milestones heading into the 2011 season. Take a closer look at the top 10 MLB milestones likely to be surpassed in 2011: 10.
