Duncan’s HR helps Indians top Royals split squad (AP)

Shelley Duncan hit a three-run homer to lead the Cleveland Indians to a 3-2 win over a Kansas City Royals split squad on Tuesday. Duncan connected in the third inning off Royals reliever Zach Miner, working his way back from Tommy John surgery in 2010. Starting pitchers Will Smith for Kansas City and Kevin Slowey of Cleveland each worked two scoreless innings.
