Make no mistake about it: the tradition of New York Yankees baseball is real. It isn't all about opening a checkbook to acquire the best player available on the open market. No, for the diehard fans, like myself, we cheer for the players who exhibit clutch performances in the games that matter the most and the Yankees have 27 World Series trophies to show for their efforts. I'm a third generation Bronx Bombers fan, and my family has been fortunate to see some of the greatest players in the history of baseball on an everyday basis.
