Rodriguez and Posada homer, Yankees beat Twins 4-3 (AP)

A nice curveball and changeup can help any young pitcher. So can a couple of early home runs from his teammates. Alex Rodriguez and Jorge Posada each hit a two-run homer, rookie Ivan Nova kept New York ahead and the Yankees made it another tough visit for Minnesota, beating the Twins 4-3 Monday night.

Burnett hit by liner in Yankees’ loss to Blue Jays (AP)

A.J. Burnett got hit by a line drive and lost his command at times. He found his curveball, though, and that was encouraging to him. Hurt by his own wild pitches and catcher Russell Martin's sloppy play, the New York Yankees right-hander gave up four runs -- two earned -- and five hits in four innings of a 6-5 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday.

Rollins ready to roll atop Phils lineup for Game 6 (AP)

Phillies shortstop Jimmy Rollins was batting leadoff for Game 6 of the NL championship series Saturday night after losing his regular spot in the postseason. Manager Charlie Manuel moved Shane Victorino, who had been hitting first, to the sixth spot. When Rollins, the 2007 NL MVP, is on his game, the Phillies are hard to stop.
