A new rumor of a Felix Hernandez trade to the New York Yankees is being furthered by MLB Network insider Ken Rosenthal. On Monday, March 14, broadcast on the network, Rosenthal talked about the Yankees need to acquire more pitching. He also stated that the Mariners need players, and that the team needs to "think hard" about making a move like this. His idea would be five prospects coming from the Yankees to the Mariners just for Hernandez.

Despite the Mariners' woes last year, his ERA of 2.27 was the best in Major League Baseball even though he had a 13-12 record, thanks to the last place team in the AL West.
