In a bizarre ending, Texas third base coach Dave Anderson was called for interfering with runner Michael Young for the final out Sunday, giving the Minnesota Twins a 6-5 win over the Rangers. Sabathia, Granderson give Yankees 4-game sweep (AP)

From the very first batter, the Oakland Athletics simply looked overmatched against CC Sabathia. Leadoff man Coco Crisp took an awkward cut at a fastball for strike three. Next, Rajai Davis got fooled by an offspeed pitch and almost fell over. Then, Kevin Kouzmanoff flailed at a slider. A lot of weak swings and soft outs followed Thursday, as Sabathia pitched one-hit ball for eight innings to earn...

After A.J. Burnett had a tough outing last week, he found pitching coach Dave Eiland. "He said, 'That's it. No more of these,"' Eiland said. "I said, 'Let's get to work."' Five days later, the Yankees' right-hander has a key September win -- he held Oakland to three runs in six innings and New York beat the Athletics 4-3 to stay in first place in the AL...

A-Rod, Sabathia lead Yankees past Mariners 4-2 (AP)

Alex Rodriguez sent a drive to deep right field and turned excitedly toward the Yankees' dugout, expecting to see jubilant teammates jumping over the railing to celebrate a walk-off win. Hang on a sec, A-Rod, it's only the eighth inning. Still need three more outs. "I thought I hit a much bigger home run than I actually did," Rodriguez said with a sheepish grin.

Jamie Moyer gave up his record-breaking 506th home run but was sharp otherwise as the Philadelphia Phillies took advantage of Toronto's troubles to beat the Blue Jays 11-2 Sunday.
