Rodriguez, Pettitte getting closer to return (AP)

Injured stars Alex Rodriguez and Andy Pettitte are getting closer to rejoining the New York Yankees. Pettitte threw 50 pitches in a simulated game Saturday morning at Yankee Stadium and said he had no problems with the strained left groin that's kept him out since July 19. "I didn't feel anything," Pettitte said.

Pettitte injures groin, Yankees beat Price, Rays (AP)

For the second day in a row, a New York Yankees starter left early with an injury. This time, it will hurt. Andy Pettitte strained his left groin Sunday and is expected to miss at least a month, the bad news for the Yankees on a day when they knocked around All-Star starter David Price and got a brilliant effort from their bullpen in a 9-5 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays.
