Mo’s bounce-back game in Kansas City should end talks of his ‘demise’ (Yahoo! Contributor Network)

Fan and media overreactions in the world of sports has become the bread and butter of the industry. Overreactions feed radio and TV personalities, as well as writers, the material that gets them through the day. New York Yankees closer Mariano Rivera did just that when he went into...

Fan smack talk: Yankees vs. Red Sox rivalry (Yahoo! Contributor Network)

I've been a New York Yankees fan since I can remember, and it always seems to be about rivalries with my team. Whether it's Boston, Kansas City...hey remember them, do they still have a ball team? Even other New Yorkers want to try and step on the Yankees.

Fan reaction: Dave Sappelt making big bid for Reds outfield (Associated Content)

I grew up in Cincinnati during the 1970s and, like anyone else in the Queen City at that time, I followed the Big Red Machine intently. As awesome as that team was, they could have won even more than two World Series before beating the Boston Red Sox in '75 and the New York Yankees in '76. The team already had three solid outfielders in George Foster, Cesar Geronimo and Ken Griffey, so the management thought Hal MacRae was expendable. They sent MacRae to Kansas City, where he became one of the best hitters of the decade.

Minnesota Twins spring training schedule (Associated Content)

The Minnesota Twins are a team that is enriched with the history of baseball. The team started in Kansas City in 1894 as a Western League team. In 1901 they were moved to Washington and became the Washington Nationals (Washington Senators). The team was immortalized in Damn Yankees. What makes the Twins interesting to me, and why I am a fan is that there is just so much history associated with the team. I am not able to attend Spring Training this year, but I have attended spring training for other teams.
