Texas Rangers' lefty C.J. Wilson has been named the starter for Game 1 of the American League Championship Series Saturday against either the New York Yankees or the Detroit Tigers. Wilson went 16-7 with a 2.94 ERA in 2011, logging 223 1/3 innings.

Blue Jays to start RHP McGowan vs Yankees (AP)
The Toronto Blue Jays made a late pitching change Friday before their series opener against the New York Yankees. Right-hander Dustin McGowan will start instead of lefty Brett Cecil, who has been listed as day to day after sustaining a cut on his left index finger while cleaning a blender. McGowan will pitch against Yankees' ace CC Sabathia (19-8).
