LHP Boone Logan and Yankees agree at $1,875,000 (AP)

The Yankees settled their final salary arbitration case, agreeing with left-hander Boone Logan on a one-year contract worth $1,875,000. The agreement Thursday was just below the midpoint between the $2.1 million he had asked for last week in arbitration and the $1.7 million New York had offered. But Logan can earn a $25,000 bonus if he appears in 55 games this season.

Logan, Yanks bullpen shut down Red Sox in 3-2 win (AP)

Bases loaded. Two out. Already trailing by two runs in the fifth inning, New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi decided he couldn't wait any longer. Out went starter Bartolo Colon and in came Boone Logan, the only left-hander in the Yankees bullpen, to face Red Sox All-Star Adrian Gonzalez. "That's a big situation," Logan said Friday night after striking out Gonzalez, who leads the...

Fan perspective: New York Yankees’ Joba Chamberlain hopes to bounce back in 2011 (Associated Content)

An MRI on March 14, 2011, revealed a strained oblique muscle for New York Yankees pitcher Joba Chamberlain. With questions surrounding the back-end of the Yankees rotation, the bullpen, with the addition of Rafael Soriano, was considered a strength. Chamberlain is part of that pen, along with Dave Robertson, Boone Logan, Pedro Feliciano, Soriano, and closer Mariano Rivera. The loss of Chamberlain would not be the most devastating thing for the Yankees, but for the young pitcher, it's yet another setback.

Fan’s take: Florida Marlins outfield trio best bargain in Major League Baseball (Associated Content)

Logan Morrison, Chris Coghlan, and Mike Stanton will comprise the most cost-effective outfield in the majors this season playing for my beloved Florida Marlins, a team I've rooted for since South Florida was awarded a franchise. Combined they will earn a total of $1.32 million, with Morrison getting $414,000, Stanton bringing home $416,000, and 2009 NL Rookie of the Year Coghlan pulling down $490,000 for 2011. Alex Rodriguez will earn roughly 25 times as much as their combined salaries over the course of the 2011 season, hauling in a prodigious $31...

Nunez, bullpen lift Yanks to 9-5 win over Seattle (AP)

Eduardo Nunez will certainly remember his first big league hit, when he drove in the go-ahead run at Yankee Stadium in place of Yankees star Alex Rodriguez. He might get a few more chances, too, now that A-Rod's on the disabled list. Nunez singled in the seventh inning Saturday, breaking open a tie game and helping New York to a 9-5 win over the Seattle Mariners.

Yankees promote RHP Moseley, send down LHP Logan (AP)

The New York Yankees have promoted right-hander Dustin Moseley from Triple-A and sent down lefty reliever Boone Logan. The 28-year-old Moseley pitched in parts of the last four seasons with the Angels. He was limited last year by forearm and hip trouble. A clause in Moseley's contract would've let him become a free agent if the Yankees hadn't told him by July 1 that he was coming to the...
