The New York Yankees have signed journeyman pitcher Brian Gordon and started him against Texas on Thursday. The 32-year-old Gordon opted out his contract with Philadelphia's Triple-A Lehigh Valley affiliate and joined the Yankees. He was 5-0 with an International League-leading 1.14 ERA when he left the Phillies' organization.

Reggie Jackson arrives at Yankees camp (AP)

Reggie Jackson finally felt good enough to join the New York Yankees in Florida for his annual stint as a spring training instructor. Jackson's arrival had been delayed due to back surgery he had in January. The Hall of Famer made the trip for Sunday's road game against Philadelphia, and plans to be in camp until next weekend.

Halladay goes 6 shutout innings, Phils beat Yanks (AP)

Phillies ace Roy Halladay struck out Jorge Posada with two on and two outs in the sixth inning, putting a clean finish on his stellar start in Philadelphia's 7-0 win over the New York Yankees on Thursday. Lopez vs. Hamilton could be key Series matchup (AP)
