Kuroda goes into 6th, Yanks split squad tops Phils (AP)

Hiroki Kuroda tipped his cap to his Yankees teammates after another job well done. The newcomer to the New York rotation pitched solidly into the sixth inning and Robinson Cano got three hits Friday as a split squad of Yankees beat the Philadelphia Phillies 5-3. Kuroda gave up one run and six hits in 5 2-3 innings of his fourth spring outing.

Granderson hopes to build on success (AP)

Curtis Granderson looks around the clubhouse and sees superstars all around him. It's enough motivation. Braves’ Teheran rebounds from 6-homer start (AP)

Julio Teheran kept the ball in the ballpark, and the result was a much better outing. Hoping to earn a spot in Atlanta's rotation, Teheran allowed one run and three hits over three innings as a Braves split squad lost 3-0 to the New York Yankees on Friday. Pity the poor PR people who represent Robinson Cano. Despite putting up MVP-caliber numbers for the New York Yankees, the second baseman has an uphill battle in terms of Q rating.
