Yovani Gallardo is firm. Even if he's fortunate enough to make the All-Star team again next summer, he'll skip it. "If the game is in Arizona, I will totally boycott," the Milwaukee Brewers pitcher said Monday. A year before Phoenix is set to host baseball's big event, the state's new immigration law kept drawing the attention of major leaguers.

Swisher, Young join All-Star HR derby (AP)

Nick Swisher of the New York Yankees and Chris Young of the Arizona Diamondbacks will swing away in the All-Star home run derby. Major League Baseball announced Saturday that Swisher and Young will take part in the slugging exhibition at Angel Stadium. Swisher won the fan voting to become the final player on the AL All-Star team.

Burnett finally wins again, Yankees sweep A’s (AP)

Nick Swisher will find out Thursday whether his latest big week with the bat will land him a spot on the AL All-Star team alongside all the other New York Yankees. Swisher homered and doubled among his three hits against his former team, and the Yankees completed a sweep of the Oakland Athletics with a 6-2 victory Wednesday night.

Pettitte added to All-Star team, replaces Buchholz (AP)

Andy Pettitte is an AL All-Star -- again. Pettitte will replace injured Red Sox pitcher Clay Buchholz for next Tuesday night's game at Angel Stadium in Anaheim. The 38-year-old Pettitte was added to the team Monday because he was next in line in voting by AL players. The players select five starters and three relievers and Pettitte was sixth on that list.
