Fan’s take: Opening Day for the New York Yankees, a tradition like no other (Associated Content)

Make no mistake about it: the tradition of New York Yankees baseball is real. It isn't all about opening a checkbook to acquire the best player available on the open market. No, for the diehard fans, like myself, we cheer for the players who exhibit clutch performances in the games that matter the most and the Yankees have 27 World Series trophies to show for their efforts. I'm a third generation Bronx Bombers fan, and my family has been fortunate to see some of the greatest players in the history of baseball on an everyday basis.

Baseball America's 2011 Top 100 Prospects Baseball America just released their 22nd annual Top 100 Prospects list. As usual, they attempted to compile this list methodically and with every effort to assure neutrality in the results. Their somewhat detailed method is explained in a preface to the list should you be so inclined to review it. At any rate, Baseball America indicates that they focused on the best tool for each player listed, who then received a grade on their outstanding skill.
