Yogi Berra, former catcher and Hall of Famer, fell in the New York Yankees' training clubhouse March 10 after tripping over a carpet edge. The 85-year old was treated and released without sustaining any serious injuries. The Yankees' concern and subsequent relief was evident in the number of personnel mobilized over the incident and the many media resources following the story. He reportedly did not want to go to the hospital for an evaluation, but the brass insisted as did his wife, Carmen, contacted at their home in New Jersey.

George Steinbrenner was suspended from baseball for trying to disgrace his high-paid outfielder, Dave Winfield. A low point for "The Boss," for sure. But rather than let the episode fade away, the Yankees owner reached out nearly a decade later to repair the rift.
